V- proud of her latest ceramic creations, (and quite rightly so – you should see the lid fit!) she’s posted a couple of comments on her blog:

Clay workshops in the Fresh Air 2013

National Star College at Fresh Air Sculpture ExhibitionHad the privilege to deliver a couple of day’s worth of clay workshops in the idyllic grounds of The Old Rectory in Quenington. I’m exhibiting a couple of pieces in the Fresh Air Sculpture show and was contracted to deliver a few hands-on potter’s wheel sessions for a number of groups with special educational needs who were visiting the show.  I had great fun working with the students from National Star College – Dom interpreted the pot throwing bit very literally! I’ve added a few pics taken by lecturer and ceramic artist Sam who was on call with a very nice camera and flair for composition.

Heads & Tails – a workshop of two halves

Heads and tails pottery workshop at Hereford Primary SchoolHaving helped Yr6 at Broadlands Primary School construct their mud sofa, I returned a few days later to make some terracotta creations to embellish the mud sculpture. Working in pairs the children created 15 fantastical figures – each partner making a head or tail section. I then transported them back to the studio for the scratch & slip treatment. I took a few photos once the body parts had been unified.Mud sofa made by the children at Broadlands Primary School in Hereford
