Having just positioned the marvellous creations made by the children at Stanley Road Primary, I stepped back to admire the shelves, rammed with curious and interesting objects. Worthy of a photo me thinks!

Thomas’ pottery birthday party
Thomas and a selection of his class mates enjoyed making pots on the potter’s wheel and filling them with clay models as part of his 7th birthday party celebrations. Loving the ‘monkey submarrine’ made by big brother Sam.

Clay dust
The staff at Springfield Primary School in the West Midlands came up with an inspired solution to an age old problem of working with clay, children and a carpeted school!
The footwear was incredible easy to put on and did nothing to dampen the children’s creativity. All 430 children contributed to a marvellous collection of collaborative terracotta animals and birds. Classes were mixed up so that the younger children got to work alongside the older ones – all very harmonious.
Once the sculptures are out of the kiln we’ll photograph them and pop them up on line and eventually the work will be installed in various outside locations dotted around school.
Creative teambuilding activity
These guys spent an afternoon at Eastnor Pottery learning how to make pots on the potter’s wheel. Prior to the workshop, I dont think any of the team had experienced the wheel so the activity acted as the perfect leveller and opportunity for them to learn a new skill. Without exception, all participants conquered the technique and made a host of very commendable pots and shapes.
