Check out our chicks!

Head of a clay chicken made by Jon Williams and all the pupils at Madresfield Primary SchoolThis amazing collaborative chicken head was made by all the children at Madresfield Primary School in Worcestershire.

Each class helped make chicken sections using the coil pot technique -enough to make two large birds covered in individual, decorated clay feathers.

The sculptures were inspired by Rosie & Daisy, a couple ex-battery hens recently acquired by the School.

Once ‘the girls’ have been fired they will be exhibited as part of the annual Voices and Visions exhibition at Worcester Cathedral – a celebration of all the creativity that has taken place in Worcestershire Schools during 2012/13.

Bank Holiday Potters

Visitors to Eastnor Pottery over the May bank holiday try their hand at lots of making techniquesClick here to see the lovely people we happened to share a pottery hour or two with over the May Bank Holiday. All these guys took advantage of our drop-in pottery sessions for individuals and family groups. Some were celebrating a birthday or hen do, whilst others were simply fulfilling a dream to make a pot on the potter’s wheel.

If you would like to book a session please contact The Pottery on 01531 633886 or admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk

First School butterflies

student at church lench first school painting her clay butterfly ready for voices and visions school exhibition in worcester cathedralHave been working with Church Lench First School in Worcestershire helping them prepare work for the upcoming Voices & Visions exhibition at Worcester Cathedral.

The children each made a pottery butterfly and once they’ve been previewed in the Cloisters (24th May – 16th June) they will be installed back in School in their brand new, bright and airy conservatory extension.

The tiles will look smashing, randomly arranged on the strip of wall underneath the generous sky lights.
