Clay vw beetle
Great to be back at Hatherton Children’s Centre in Walsall.
The group of parents chose to produce coil-pots again having been inspired by their fired results created on my last visit. I’m always astounded how such a humble making technique can be interpretetd in so many different ways. How good is this VW beetle?
Vale of Evesham after school club
Recently completed x3 creative and fun packed after-school sessions for the students at the Vale of Evesham Special School. We explored pinch-pot, coiling and slab building techniques as well as the potter’s wheel.

Longlevens Literature Festival
Longlevens Junior School launched their very own Literature Festival in the last week of term. The event has been planned and organised by a committee of pupils who i’d met at the Cheltenham Literature festival in October. I was delighted to be invited to deliver a series of clay workshops as part of the pupil’s event at school.
I worked with Yr5 to make a splendid collaborative planter festooned with book characters and then later in the afternoon, families were encouraged to book in to short clay taster sessions.
Pottery funny bones
Great to be back at Bishops Cleeve Primary School. They are committed to delivering a creative curriculum teaching all core subjects and skills (numeracy/literacy etc) through exciting topics.
They also have a talented art specialist teacher who spends a whole day off timetable inspiring the students. The results are amazing with corridors, halls and classrooms festooned with ambitious art works constructed from all kinds of different media.
I worked with Yr3 making skeleton tiles inspired by Janet & Allan Ahlberg well known Funny bones stories.
