Louisa’s hen do

15 pottery hen party participants at Eastnor Pottery in HerefordshireWhilst Jon and Lottie were busy making collaborative clay apples at the Hereford Celebration event, Gemma was more than holding the fort here at EP Central! She spent the afternoon in the company of these 15 lovely ladies, introducing them to the delights of making and painting clay coil pots.

The party even managed to dodge the Autumnal showers and enjoyed a picnic in the Pottery garden.

If you are thinking about having a pottery hen party at Eastnor Pottery, please take a look at this great little video produced by our resident film maker Elena. It’ll give you an idea of what the girls get up to!

Proper celebration

Lottie from Eastnor Pottery helps visitor make a giant Hfds cider appleThousands and thousands of people attended the annual Hereford Celebration in King Georges V Park in the city. We provided free drop-in clay sessions for families, encouraging them to make collaborative cider apples. We ended up making x3 of the oversized ceramic sculptures. (Above) Lottie helps a young visitor attach her mini clay apple to the larger structure.

Once the apples have been fired and glazed they will appear, as much of our ceramic projects do, in Priory Cleaners, dry cleaners window in Ledbury high street.

Here’s some lovely photos from the day.

Teambuilding teachers

Staff from Leominster Infants and Junior schools combine their pottery talents at Eastnor Pottery in HerefordshireLeominster Infants and Leominster Junior Schools are joining forces and getting a brand new School in which to pool their resources. Although the building work wont be completed till Oct 2014 the staff from both camps have been getting to know each other at Eastnor Pottery.

All 42 teachers spent a very enjoyable and energised morning chatting and making a series of eight tile panels in the shape of Ryland sheep – a breed synonymous with the heritage of Leominster.

Once the tiles have been fired and glazed they will eventually be dotted around the new build for the children to discover in their new primary school – a bit like ceramic graffiti!
