Away-day art

Creative agency celebrate their 11th birthday at Eastnor PotteryPink Green celebrated their 11th birthday in a very creative and art inspired fashion here in Eastnor a few weeks ago. The Newbury based creative agency checked into the Pottery first thing to make a collaborative clay work before taking turns on the five potter’s wheels we’d supplied for their enjoyment.

Next, the team headed for Eastnor Castle for a spot of lunch and afternoon sketching, facilitated by OldAshArt

If you’re planning an away day or breakout session and would like something challenging and creative to do, then why not take a spin on the potter’s wheel and discover your inner potter.

We have off the peg packages starting at just £15 per head but also have the flexibility and creative flair to tailor a project to suit your company’s requirements.

Please give us a call to discuss your special organisational make! Please tel 01531 633886 or email admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk and ask for Jon the Potter.

Hens here there and everywhere

Hen party group make pottery jugs and goblets

We are fortunate to be able to offer our creative hens the choice of two versatile artist studio spaces in which to hold their party celebrations. The main studio boasting x8 potter’s wheels is popular with groups of girls choosing to wrestle with spinning mud and flying clay!

If participants are looking to make and paint a clay sculpture or model a coil pot creation, the potter’s wheels can be swapped for workbenches and stools giving ample table top space for their clay creations. Claire and her friends made full use of the furniture to produce an impressive array of coil pot goblets and pottery jugs.

Alternatively, some of our larger parties opt for the delightful ‘Bake Off’ ambience of The Potting Tent marquee on the Pottery lawn. Kitty’s hens, 22 in all, settled in for a morning of clay modeling, Prosecco tippling hen party fun. There was even time for each of the participants to make a pot on the potter’s wheel…and perform a hearty rendition of the potter’s wheel national anthem!

We have lots of hen party projects including collaborative works and individual makes. Please take a look at our clay modelling & potter’s wheel options and contact the Pottery to check availability. Tel 01531 633886 or admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk

Sisters are doing clay

Local WI make pottery coil pots and potter's wheel pots at Eastnor Pottery We’ve entertained a few WI groups at the Pottery recently.

Groups of 10 or 12 women have visited the studio in the Autumnal gloom to get creative with clay.

These ladies from West Malvern WI were the latest group to visit on Wednesday evening to make coil pots and each take a turn on the potter’s wheel. Most of them had never experienced the potter’s wheel or even touched clay since leaving school.

They had a great time and were positively beaming at their pottery achievements. Well done ladies!
