Eastnor Pottery and The Flying Potter - Pottery Experiences for families, groups and individuals
It seems like companies and organisations are once again investing in training and development activities for their staff. We’ve noticed a marked increase in enquiries for our teambuilding sessions as well as facilitating a number of such workshops for businesses.
These guys had a two day meeting in Malvern recently and spent a couple of hours creating collaborative sculpture and making pots on the potter’s wheels before dinner – the perfect break out solution for any meeting or conference.
Each year we are pleased to host work experience students from any one of the local High Schools.
This year, Charlie from John Kyrle High School in Ross on Wye joined us for a week. So far Charlie has glazed work, made a 100 clay bees, unpacked a kiln and had a go on the potter’s wheel.
Here he is working on a self initiated ‘poppy seed head’ T-pot.
I was privileged to spend an evening with 20 or so early years practitioners from a variety of settings in Worcestershire the other evening.
In January, ECHO (Early ChildHood Organisation) invited me to lead a practical workshop at Worcester University for their members.
Working in rotation, four groups enjoyed the four clay activities laid on for them. One of the tasks encouraged the delegates to ‘wear their clay’.
Not sure if clay gloves will ever catch-on, but if they do these guys are ahead of their time!

‘Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!’

Another fantastic, themed opportunity for young potters to get their hands on real clay at Eastnor Pottery near Ledbury, Hfds. Come and make pottery rabbits and Easter bunnies with Jon the potter and his creative team. Fun-packed. hands-on clay fun for 4yrs and up.
The workshop sessions are designed to suit two age groups, 4-8yrs in the morning at 11.30am with the older age group 9-12yrs at 2pm, although younger or older siblings are welcome to join their brothers and sisters! Sessions last for 1.5hrs and places cost £15 per child with a 10% discount for x3 or more spaces booked.
The children’s creations will be glazed and fired, ready to be collected from the Pottery a few weeks later. Places can only be reserved by telephoning 01531 633886 or email admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk
These guys were brilliant fun when they visited the Pottery to make pots on the potter’s wheel to celebrate Ruthie’s special day. Great costumes and lots of ‘Ghost’ moments!
