Four kick wheels, three lovely graduates from The University of Wolverhampton and hoards of families of enthusiastic potters.
We were hired by Wolverhampton Art Gallery to offer drop-in potter’s wheel tasters to celebrate the launch of the Craft Open West Midlands exhibition.
I had the privilege of working with the same students back in March when we offered a similar activity at the Launch of Big Ceramics. The girls from the Uni were fantastic and made participants feel relaxed and valued as they sampled the delights of the potter’s wheel, in most cases for the very first time. A career in workshop facilitation beckons!
Here at Eastnor Pottery we aim to provide visitors with the best possible pottery experience.
On the whole, it’s fair to say we manage to do this – just take a look at the complamentary reviews left by our lovely customers on Trip Advisor.
That said, we have to conceed we may have been aced, in terms of customer service by these guys!
If you ever find yourself on the Beautiful Greek Isle of Kefalonia, do not even consider leaving the island before you’ve taken an excursion on The Queen Bee.
Brothers George and Pedro renovated an old fishing boat and during the tourist season take holiday makers on unforgetable and totaly unique trips around the island. The boys use a combination of charm, wit and humour to make everybody on board feel welcome and included – so much fun!
In a day we visited four separate locations – exclusive white beaches only accesible by boat, swimming and snorkeling in clear, turquoise waters and the best bit from our point of view – A beach made of clay!!!
The brothers also enlist the culnary expertise of their mother, the third and final crew member. ‘Mama’ works tirelesly preparing delicious greek fayre served up at lunchtime with a glass or two of chilled white wine.
Extremely recommended! #BestDayOfTheHoliday
What a busy summer of pottery mad families, groups and individuals. We have enjoyed working with each and every one of you and the creative output has been awsome.
Here are some beautiful things created by our beautiful customers, a selection of who can been viewed by selecting the individual FaceBook albums below:
The Potting Tent was awash with kickers and throwers at the weekend as we entertained yet another hen party group, partying and celebrating via the medium of clay.
The girls came forward in pairs to sample the delights of making a pot on the potter’s wheel on our foot powered kick wheels – one hen provided the power by pedaling furiously down below, whilst her potting partner wrestled with a lump of spinning mud on the wheel head. Great fun and loads of laughter
We also provided a hand modeling project for those resting from the potter’s wheel. If you take a look at the photos from the session, you’ll agree there were some wonderful clay models created, including a fine brace of owls, purple artichoke and a magnificent biplane.
