Hand picked!

disgusting clay work inspired by roald dahl's the twitsMonday at the Castle and families got to make the most horrible, foul and disgusting clay models….and participants certainly didn’t disappoint!

We used the unsavoury creations to decorate a giant fruit bowl. This exquisitely modeled hooter had all the accessories, warts & all!

Images from Monday’s pottery fun are featured here.

Team E.P triumph!

robbie and elena from eastnor pottery & the flying potter facilitated successful clay workshops at hereford nature trust's 50th anniversary celebratory eventExhausted workshop facilitator Elena is ‘wheeled away’ following her marathon session at Herefordshire Nature Trust!

Elena and Robbie helped, “it felt like thousands” of youngsters make a giant terracotta caterpillar to celebrate the Trust’s 50th anniversary. Thanks once again for their enthusiasm and dedication to the cause.

Inspired by twits!

a fantastic clay wasp modeled by a participant at eastnor castle's pottery week facilitated by the flying potterOn Sunday, theatre company Illyriastaged an open air performance of Roald Dahl’s The Twits at Eastnor Castle. Tales of wriggly spaghetti made from real worms got me thinking about disgusting dishes and foul foods – perfect inspiration for x5 days of pottery workshops at the Castle.

Let’s make a feast fit for Mr & Mrs Twit. Plates of wasps, snails and spiders…a collaborative bowl of rotten fruit….rancid cakes and smelly sardines – endless possibilities.

Here are photos from Sunday.
