Creative Breaks at the Courtyard
Creative Breaks is an association of Herefordshire based artists and craftspeople who offer courses and workshops as part of their creative practice. As a founding member I have enjoyed the benefits of membership since it’s inception in the mid 90’s.
Each year, as a group we get to promote our services to visitors to the Hereford Contemporary Craft Fair at the Courtyard Theatre in Hereford. We set up stand in the Theatre foyer and take it in turns over the three days to demonstrate our art & Craft.
As in previous years I encouraged members of the public to sample the delights of making a pot on the wheel – no matter how old the visitor! See our Facebook album for more photos.
Thank you so much for such a memorable experience. My little boy and I had a wonderful time making our treasures. Leo is STILL talking about the volcano and pot that he made. There is something magical about working with clay and to be able to share that with my son was brilliant.
What a great moment in my baby boy’s early life! He is 8 months old and Jon let him have a go on the potters wheel. It was fantastic! Ruan, my little boy, seemed to be naturally intrigued by the moving clay and was soon poking his fingers in and making lovely shapes. I would never have thought of this for such a young baby, but it was a wonderful, sensory experience for him. Thank you Jon! I shall be telling all my ‘mum’ friends!
