Pirates!

Pirate pottery fun for children in half term at Eastnor PotteryChildren’s workshops in the ½ term Holiday
Pirates!
31st May 2017

We are delighted to announce details of our fun, creative and pirate themed children’s workshop sessions planned for the rapidly approaching ½ term holiday.

Youngsters will take a spin on the potter’s wheel to make a pirate galleon filled with rogues and treasure.

Captain Long Jon Potter and his crew of ceramic sea-dogs will be on hand to aid the seafaring creativity:

Those young landlubbers and scallywags who visited the Pottery back in 2006 might recall our ‘Pirates & princesses’ children’s workshops. We reckon everybody loves a bit’ a pirate and the sessions were fit to bursting. Eleven years on, we thought it was high ‘tide’ we hoisted the jolly roger and readied the rowlocks for another voyage of pottery pilfery. We set sail on the 31st . Arrr me hearties!

The children’s terracotta creations will be fired and ready for collection from the Pottery approx. one month later.

Sessions are designed for two age groups although younger and older siblings will never be turned away: 11.30am-1pm 4-8YRS and 2-3.30pm 9-12YRS. Places cost £15 per child with a 10% discount for x3 or more places booked. Telephone or email booking essential. 01531 633886 admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk

Just Married!

recently married couple get messy with clay on a potter's wheel workshop at eastnor pottery in West MidlandsThese guys were on an extended honeymoon when they recently attended one of our potter’s wheel weekend workshops. They quite literally stepped off a plane, into the Pottery and onto the potter’s wheels.

The pair spent a brilliant day with seven other potter’s wheel newbies making loads of terracotta pots, plates and bowls.

The newly weds even found the energy to re-enact  ‘that scene’ from ‘that movie’ – I think you know the one! ;)

Rachel attended one of our one day potter’s wheel workshops and as a result, qualified for our £10 an hour, semi-supervised studio rental. So far she’s been back three or four times perfecting her throwing technique and creating some stunning surface decoration.

I don’t think readers will be too surprised to learn that she’s an artist and has an online presence: OldAshArt

Hey Clay success

Family experience the potter's wheel at Eastno Pottery and the Flying Potter HerefordshireAt the beginning of April we took part in a national clay event organised by The Crafts Council and BBC Get Creative.

Hey Clay! aspired to give people the opportunity to get creative with clay at free pottery workshops in venues all over the UK. The event ran from Friday 7 – Sunday 9 April 2017, and we welcomed near on 100 participants to our studio – all of them making a pot on the potter’s wheel.

We created a photo album of each day:
