Saturday 25th March 2017 will be remembered as one of the most diverse and busy days we’ve ever had here at Eastnor Pottery and the Flying Potter.

We facilitated x2 children’s birthday parties, a pottery hen party for 18 girls and an endless stream of couples and family drop-in participants.

Phew!

April fools? No chance!

Eight clay novices took to the potter’s wheels on the 1st of April 2017…and not an April fool among them!

The individuals from all over the country were participating in our ‘Potter’s Wheel Weekend Workshop‘ experience and all of them produced a unique, professional body of work.

The group gelled extremely well and the warm Spring sunshine meant the participants could chill and enjoy their lunch on the Pottery lawn.

A perfect, weekend creative break with participants leaving on Sunday afternoon feeling relaxed and expressing a desire to further expand their pottery skills.

The next available weekend with places up for grabs takes place 10 & 11th June 2017. Tel 01531 633886 or email admin@eastnorpottery.co.uk to reserve a place.

Visitors and exhibitors didn’t need to be asked twice if they’d like to have a go on the wheel and at certain times, participants were queuing up to tackle the clay.

The juxtaposition of a muddy potter’s wheel in amongst the suits, glamour and business paraphernalia makes for a super photograph – as you can see, we took quite a few….

Winterfold House came to our house!

Winterfold House School visits pottery to work with ceramic artists at Eastnor PotteryWell, to the Pottery anyway!

Yr1 visited us in March and spent the day making a collaborative flowerpot and individual works inspired by the illustrative genius Julia Donaldson

Julia’s characters are a gift to reproduce in clay and the youngsters from Winterfold House School were soon creating characters from The Gruffalo, Room On The Broom and The Smartest Giant in Town.
