Westfield Special School

Spent a lovely day working with students and staff at Westfield Special School in Leominster. The current, cross curricular theme in school is ‘who am I?’ and the topic presented the children with the opportunity to approach the clay in different ways. Some of the more able students made 3d self portraits using the coil pot technique whilst other groups felt the clay underfoot and mark made into soft slabs of clay.

As always Jon we loved spending the day with you! The children gain so much from your visits and are always filled with enthusiasm. It is great to witness how even simple exploration of the clay can hold their attention, and the potter’s wheel is always an object of wonder. Thank you.
Thanks Judy. It’s always an inspiration to me how your students approach their making and my trips to Westfield are ones that I greatly look forward to. Hope to see you all again soon.
